The running total for British military casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan during 2007 are now included in the summary statistics for both monitor projects. These totals are calculated by adding together fatalities, field hospital admissions and medical evacuations. They show that, up to July 15th, Britain has suffered 1130 casualties in Iraq and 771 casualties in Afghanistan so far this year.
Unfortunately, the trend data also shows that casualty rates are steadily rising as the situations deteriorate in both countries.
